My Approach

My approach is based on the cornerstones of the co-active coaching model:

  1. The client is naturally creative, resourceful, and whole.
  2. In coaching we address the client’s whole life.
  3. The agenda for coaching comes from the client.
  4. The coaching relationship is mutually designed.

I believe that my clients come to coaching with the ability to find their own answers. My clients are not in need of repair; they simply need a catalyst or guide to help them elicit their own brilliance and help them disregard that voice in their head that is telling them otherwise. Even though clients typically come to me for career-related issues, we address their whole life. We look at what is working well, and what is working not as well. My clients set their own agendas and goals. I have no predetermined outcome for them, nor do I decide what should be important to them. Together we design the guidelines of the coaching relationship, what methods of communication work best for each client.

A coaching relationship is a blend of learning and action. I am not a guru; in fact I believe you are your own guru. My intention is to provide the learning for each client to be their most empowered self, living their most fulfilled and balanced life, and being present to each glorious or crappy moment of it. I hold my clients accountable to the actions that they have chosen for themselves; even when there is a failure to take action there is always something to be learned in the process.

Getting Started

  1. The first step is a no-obligation 30 minute phone session to discuss your situation and see if we are a good fit. If either of us feels we’re not a good match I am happy to refer you to another coach.
  2. Once we get started, the process is fairly straightforward. Regardless of the reason you come to coaching, we always do an assessment of what is working and not working in your life.
    • We do exercises to clarify your values, what is uniquely important to you.
    • We look at what you want to accomplish.
    • We discuss what other assessments might be valuable for the process.
  3. Once all of the assessments are complete, the real fun begins. Some clients choose to continue with individual sessions. Most clients, however, prefer to purchase monthly packages of coaching.
    • Individual sessions: 1-on-1 coaching sessions as needed. My current fee for individual sessions is $125 per hour.
    • Monthly packages: 3 45-minute 1-on-1 phone sessions per month. My current fee for my monthly package is $250/month.

Payment

Sessions are paid for in advance, by check or by credit card. Terminations can be made by either of us, with two weeks notice.
